This month’s Quilt Block Mania theme of “Under the Sea” inspired me to design a sand dollar, a flat sea urchin whose skeletons(!) can sometimes be found on beaches. As a child, my family would sometimes hunt for sand dollars when visiting relatives in Florida. I assure you, had anyone informed me that they were skeletons, I might not have been so enthusiastic at the time.
This block is part of Quilt Block Mania. A group of designers agreed to create quilt block patterns based on one theme. We hope to introduce you to a wide variety of designers and techniques while you have fun creating your own quilt.
