Pattern Downloads

Where’s my pattern? I clicked the link, but I can't find the pdf.

When you clicked the link, your browser sent the pdf file to a folder. Which folder? Well, it depends. Here’s how to find it:

First, try clicking CTRL + J while your browser is open. That should open up the Downloads folder. Look for the pattern there. You can then move the pdf or open it before saving it to the location of your choice.

In the Internet browser options or settings, you can find where your download files are saved. You can then change that download location or leave it alone.

In some cases, when you download a file, you may see a pop-up asking if you want to Save the file or Run the file. If you select the Save option, you can specify where to save the file.

To find the Downloads file without having the browser open, press the Windows key, type the word Downloads, then press Enter.

You can also find your Downloads folder in any File Explorer window. Open a new Explorer window by pressing the Windows key + E.  In your File Explorer window, navigate to your Downloads folder using the shortcut in the left pane.

First, try clicking COMMAND + OPTION + L while your browser is open. That should open up the Downloads folder. Look for the pattern there. You can then move the pdf or open it before saving it to the location of your choice.

From the Finder, you can open the Downloads folder by clicking File → New Finder Window, or pressing Command + N. Then, click Downloads in the left pane.

You can also access your downloads using the link on the Dock. In the lower-right corner of the dock, click Downloads. Your most recent downloads spring out of the dock.

Android phones and tablets include an app called Files or My Files, depending on the manufacturer. The app displays all files on the device, including those downloaded, listed in chronological order.

Search for the Files or My Files app in the app drawer. The app drawer is the section that contains every downloaded app—this is different from your home screen. You may need to swipe up to access this. Open the app and tap the Downloads option to view downloaded files on your phone or tablet.

On the iPad and iPhone, downloaded files are not saved or stored in a single location. Instead, downloaded files are associated and accessible through compatible apps.

When a PDF file is downloaded, it can be viewed through Safari or a PDF app. To find a downloaded pattern on your iPad or iPhone, open the compatible app and use it to view or run the file.

affiliate Links

Why do you have affiliate links?

Some of the links that I share are affiliate links for Amazon or other sites. If you click on an affiliate link and then make a purchase, I receive a small commission. These commissions make it possible for me to continue to provide free content for you. It’s important to me that you know that I would never provide an affiliate link to a product or service that I don’t stand behind. Thanks for supporting small business owners like me!
