Growing up in a shore town, I always loved hearing the ice cream vendors calling out to beach-goers. “ICE CREAM HEEEEEAH!” This is southern New Jersey and not New England, but I guess yelling “here” without the “r” sound is easier.
Anyway, I was (and still am) a chocolate enthusiast who almost always picked the fudgiest option available, but striped pops inspired this block. Rocket Pop is my homage to the roving ice cream vendors of my youth.
This block is part of Quilt Block Mania. A group of designers agreed to create quilt block patterns based on one theme. We hope to introduce you to a wide variety of designers and techniques while you have fun creating your own quilt.
