Hello! If you’re familiar with Pretty Piney Quilts, then you may have noticed that things have been pretty quiet over there for a while. That’s because I’ve been crazy busy with setting up the new brand: Sugar Sand Quilt Company!
What’s new?
There’s a new logo, new colors, new fonts, and a whole new website. I think you’ll agree that the new site has a clean, fresh feel and that it’s easy to navigate. If you subscribe to the newsletter, you’ll see some format changes there, too.
Eventually, you’ll start seeing more deep dives into basic skills like this flying geese page. I’m also finishing up descriptions of classes that I’ll be offering to guilds and shops–this is super exciting for me!
What hasn’t changed?
Well, I’ve moved all of my quilt patterns over after updating them with the new branding. The quilt block patterns and mug rugs are next on my list–for now, you can still buy those patterns at the old site.
I’ll continue to participate in blog hops, quilt-alongs, and other events in collaboration with fabric companies and my fellow quilt pattern designers.
I’ve been working on updating some of the most popular tutorials to migrate them, too.
Why the change?
When I started blogging in 2016, I used the name of the business that I had set up to work at local fairs and festivals selling finished quilts and other sewn items. Since then, my mission has changed and I’ve become aware that the brand needed to evolve, too. The name Sugar Sand Quilt Company, the pine cone logo, and the sea glass colors are all evocative of my deep roots in southern New Jersey, where I grew up dividing my time between the sandy soil of the Pinelands and the beaches of Cape May County.
I’m so glad you’re here, and I hope you continue to follow along with my quilting story!
