Find Your U-F-Flow

In-person or Zoom

If you have a collection of Unfinished Objects in your own personal Area 51, this lecture will inspire you to think through the whys, whats, and hows of getting those UFOs organized and finished. Becca walks you through the UFO Prevention Toolkit, which includes her own UFO decision-making flowchart and a project organizer to keep track of every step of your quilt’s journey.

Note to Program Chairs: Many guilds schedule their own follow-up program a few months later and invite members to bring in the projects they were inspired to finish after this lecture for a show and tell. That’s a creative way to fill in an empty month in your schedule!

Your flow sheet made me realize I had stuff taking up room that I hadn’t reached for in years and never will. You gave me the insight and courage I needed. Thank you.

Unleash Your Walking Foot

In-person

Get out of the ditch and start quilting fabulous patterns with straight lines or curves using your own walking foot or dual-feed! Becca will show you her collection of small and large quilts that she’s quilted on her beloved Bernina 550QE using a walking foot. Learn more about how to plan a design and get lots of tips and tricks to get the most out of your home machine’s feed dogs.

Everyday Inspirations Trunk Show

In-person

I started quilting in 2011 and started designing my own small quilts soon after that—mostly mug rugs and wall hangings. I quickly realized that as I sewed, I was telling stories, and my favorite work tended to be the pieces with the best stories. When I started designing quilt patterns, I took that to heart, and tried to tell a story with every stitch.

Join me as we explore the simple stories behind each quilt—a reflection of life’s everyday moments and heartfelt memories. From the tranquility of the New Jersey Pinelands to personal narratives stitched into fabric, each quilt tells a unique tale that celebrates the beauty of ordinary life. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or new to the craft, I invite you to discover how quilting can capture and preserve the stories that matter most. Let’s embark on a journey together through the art of storytelling with quilts.
