When the New Jersey issue of Quiltfolk came out, THE big question on everyone’s mind seemed to be:

DOES YOUR SEWING ROOM ALWAYS LOOK LIKE THAT??!?

The answer is, well, no. I assure you that if professional photographers came to your house for a magazine shoot, you’d also haul a bunch of unrelated junk out of the room and put it somewhere else.

But! I do have a lot of organizational systems in place that work pretty well. In fact, those fabric shelves really do always look like that. And so do my bookshelves and the Area 51 where my Unfinished Objects live. My biggest struggles are clutter and distractions. So if I set aside a little time in my planner, I actually do pretty well at actually getting things under control (instead of dumping everything in the basement).

So this year, I’m inviting you to do the same. Join the Studio Refresh Challenge and I’ll send you 30 prompts to help inspire you to get your sewing space under control!

  • Revamp Your Studio
Make your sewing area more organized and enjoyable to work in.
  • Find Easy Solutions for Organization
Simplify storage for your fabric, tools, and projects.
  • Boost Creativity, Minimize Stress
Create a relaxed and clutter-free space that inspires creativity and makes sewing more fun.

You’ll get an email every weekday for six weeks (starting on March 4, 2024) with a prompt intended to inspire you to transform your sewing space, one step at a time.

Disclaimer: We understand that each sewing space is unique, and not all participants may find every step of the Studio Refresh Challenge applicable to their individual situations.

Whether you have a small sewing nook or a spacious studio, we encourage you to adapt the prompts to fit your needs and preferences. Feel free to skip any steps that don’t apply to your sewing space or modify them to better suit your situation.

The goal of this challenge is to inspire you to create a sewing space that works for you, so feel empowered to tailor the prompts to your specific circumstances. Happy sewing and organizing!
