I’m participating in the Quilted Snowman Sew Along with Fat Quarter Shop!
You can choose your own fabrics and just buy the pattern, or do like I did and opt for the Quilted Snowman Quilt Kit which uses Lori Holt’s Home Town Holiday collection.
A note about Home Town Holiday: If you like the colors but don’t want to use Christmas fabrics, most of the included prints aren’t explicitly seasonal. You can easily replace the seasonal prints with other fabrics if you choose to. If you choose other Lori Holt fabrics, it’ll be easy to get the right colors! Remember, you never have to make the same quilt that everyone else does.

My experience
Putting together the Quilted Snowman top after finishing all of those blocks was easy, and you know what was even easier? Sending it over to my dear friend Jo at Block Party Quilts for quilting!

We chose a soft Cuddle backing together and I asked her to use artistic license on the long-arming. She always makes terrific choices, and I love how it turned out!
Usually when I make a quilt for a quilt-along as part of a blog hop, the finished product goes to a deserving home courtesy of a local guild or Quilts of Valor chapter. This one, though, my family insisted on keeping.
It’s big. It’s snuggly. It’s just so frigging adorable. And fortunately, it won’t melt over the summer, so we can still enjoy it next year.
Best snowman ever!
