Did you know that a group of flamingos is called a Flamboyance? When I found out that this month’s theme for Quilt Block Mania is “Birds,” I knew right away that I had to design a flamingo quilt block in honor of my oldest. A few years ago on a road trip, we started a game where we took pictures of every flamingo-themed object we saw. Now when I see a flamingo, I’m reminded of the fun summer trips we used to take.
This block is part of Quilt Block Mania. A group of designers agreed to create quilt block patterns based on one theme. We hope to introduce you to a wide variety of designers and techniques while you have fun creating your own quilt.
Ready for your Flamingo quilt block?
All of my Quilt Block Mania patterns are free for one month or when the next block is released, whichever comes first.
Interested in buying a set of pre-cut, pre-fused appliqués–for this block or any of the other blocks in my shop? I’m willing to start making them if there’s interest. E-mail me and let me know if that’s something you’d like to see!
