Let’s sew along with Fat Quarter Shop and Sherri and Chelsi from A Quilting Life!
This is the fifth month of stitching the Brightly Sampler quilt from Sherri and Chelsi’s new book, Family Favorites.
You’ll need a copy of the book and the fabrics of your choice. Read more about the fabric requirements at the Fat Quarter Shop’s blog, the Jolly Jabber. You can order a fabric kit, backing, and a foundation paper set, or work from your own fabric pantry.
I’m sewing with the Ruby Star Society collection Endpaper by Jen Hewett, supplemented by other complementary Ruby Star fabrics. With only two blocks to stitch per month, it’s a breeze to keep up (or catch up)!
Happy Dance made me do a happy dance, because I love a scrappy half-square triangle block. Pay attention, there are four solid background squares in each block and you have to make sure the HSTs are pointing the right way. I used a small homemade design wall to lay out each of the first two Happy Dance blocks. Stack and shuffle to make sure your blocks are varied!
These fabrics still sing to me! Good thing, too, it’s easier to happy dance when there’s music.
