Ready to finish the Fat Quarter Shop‘s Bats & Boos Quilt-Along? I’ve had a blast with this quilt, and I hope you have, too!
The Bats & Boos Quilt-Along is a free pattern for a 40.5″ x 40.5″ Halloween quilt. The pattern is available on the Fat Quarter Shop blog (The Jolly Jabber). Plus, watch a video for every block!
You can order supplies and kits at the FQS website here.
If you want to use the same fabrics I did, here’s the list in the same order as the official Fabric Requirements:
- Grunge Basics White Paper
- Grunge Basics Poplin
- Grunge Basics Lead
- Grunge Basics Grape
- Grunge Basics Nectar
- Grunge Basics Plum
- Grunge Basics Metallic Eggplant
No matter what fabrics you choose, I suggest cutting a swatch of each and sticking it on the fabric list with a glue stick. It will be a handy reference!
Instead of using the template papers for flying geese and half-square triangles, you might opt to use rulers for squaring up. I like to use Deb Tucker’s Wing Clipper for flying geese and Bloc Loc Half Square Triangle Square-Up Rulers. Specialty rulers aren’t necessary (check out my tips for squaring up flying geese without them), but I’ve found them to be a terrific investment as a quilter who frequently finds herself making flying geese and HSTs.
