The free bag patterns below were written to support Flow Forward NJ and their mission to provide period products to those who need them. You’re welcome to use the patterns however you like, but if you’d like to contribute even when there’s not a bag drive happening, please donate what you can directly to the organization HERE.

Calling all sewists!
Join the bag-making drive to support Flow Forward NJ!
Flow Forward NJ volunteers stuff bags to donate to shelters, food pantries, and community groups to get period products into the hands of those who need them.
In 2025, we exceeded our goal of 500 bags by a lot. This year, we're aiming even higher. Let's donate 1,000 bags by May 1, 2026!
Bags can be any fabric, but should be around 6" x 9" and must include a closure, such as a zipper, button, snap, or Velcro. This year, you can donate period products, too! Pads, tampons, and liners will all be used to fill these bags.
Drop off or send your bags and/or period products to: Block Party Quilts, attn: Becca, 7 Wilkins Station Road, Suite 7-101, Medford, NJ, 08055. Thank you so much!

You can use any pattern you’d like, as long as the bag is about the right size (a little bigger is better than a little smaller) and includes a closure! Below is the zipper bag pattern we used on our sew days last year, and it worked really well, with plenty of room for supplies. There are some suggestions in the blog post from the 2025 drive, too. Previously we requested zippers or buttons only, but this year we got the okay for snaps and Velcro, too. This year’s pattern is the Clutch Bag!

If you choose to make the Clutch Bag, but you don’t have access to snaps or Velcro, go ahead and send the bag along to us without a closure. We have a nice collection of snaps that some volunteers will be happy to use to add that final touch for you.
