Since this month’s Quilt Block Mania theme is Connections, I opted to make a block that looks great on its own, but becomes better when it’s connected in multiples. You can use two leftover jelly roll strips for the Chain Link design, and (with careful cutting) you can get the background fabric from a fat eighth (9″ x 20″).
Use three Chain Link blocks for a quick table runner, or play with the design and/or colors to make a whole quilt. Consider fussy-cutting a motif for the center square instead of using the same background fabric!
This block is part of Quilt Block Mania. A group of designers agreed to create quilt block patterns based on one theme. We hope to introduce you to a wide variety of designers and techniques while you have fun creating your own quilt.
