Last year I took close-up photos of some of the notions floating around in my studio. “Maybe someday,” I thought, “these would make a fun appliqué quilt.”
And then I never looked at them again.
Well, okay, not NEVER. Because when this sewing themed blog hop appeared on the horizon, I knew I had to use one of the close-ups.
Although the pattern is for a 6″ finished block, I decided to turn my sample into a 6″ x 12″ mini quilt. A Cricut Maker is perfect for cutting out custom lettering, but I used good old-fashioned fabric scissors to improvise a thread tail.
